Stretching by Choice
Shifting from Fear to Flow.
Hello Everyone,
Thank you for being here and for all the love and support. Things have been shifting in my mind, body and spirit.
Over the past couple of months, I have experienced an amazing shift within myself that I had previously only dreamed of.
That is the gracefulness of peace. βοΈπ
It is an amazing feeling to feel calm in my body and to trust in the support around me. Something I did not think was possible.
I had some people recently ask me how. βHow have you accomplished this level of self-regulation? β
I listed some things I do, CBD/CBG products from Green Alley Wellness, which have helped to support my Endocannabinoid system.
Insight Timer, which is an amazing meditation app. With informative and inspirational talks, along with various music. With natural, instrumental, and sound healing tracks. I just reached my 413 consecutive days and 67th milestone. It has been a part of my morning practice for over a year now.
I am not currently affiliated with these sites, I do not receive kickbacks for mentioning them, I believe in them and their support in my process.
That being said, this is not prescriptive, as I am aware we live in an instant gratification society. βIf you do this, that will happen.β I am not saying this can change your life; I am saying it has contributed to enhancing mine.
Walking in nature and being in the moment of appreciation, that too is good for our well-being. Stretching ourselves in places that we could use a bit more wiggle.
I share it like this: if you stretch out your arm, shoulder height, that is your comfort zone. You raise your arm and stretch out your hand ( if you can do that, and an injury does not restrict that movement). If you go a little further, now you can feel that movement in other parts of your body. Like your back and sides, this is a little outside your comfort zone π Now, what if you went a bit further than that? Bending, now your lower body is engaged, and you can feel that in your stomach area. We are activating our core, physically and mentally. One more stretch beyond this one, and we start to feel a full body activation, thighs and lower legs, plus all the above are firing now. I hope you were doing this as I was describing it. If not, go back and reread this section and give it a try. Notice how you feel with each shift in moments.
How far you can stretch and push yourself shows where you are and are not willing to go. This works when I am coaching someone to a point where they are comfortable stretching to reach a desired goal. I see people having grandiose ideas and no way to make them real. A retreat in Bali is one I have heard over and over, even said it myself. When I ask the person how they are taking steps to achieve that goal, they either freeze up, get defensive, or are critical of themselves.
It is not that the goal is unattainable; it is that currently, it is out of their reach. This is a far stretch from where they are right now. βYou have to learn to walk before you can run.β So then I invite them into bite-sized steps to get them walking.
Regulating a nervous system that is used to being in a constant state of fight, flight, or freeze takes time to rewire. Our brains need other associations and experiences to reference besides those of the bad things that occurred over our lifetimes.
Alpha State (8β12 Hz): Associated with being relaxed, calm, and lucid. It is a state of βpassive attention,β often occurring with closed eyes, daydreaming, or during light meditation.
Beta State (12β30 Hz): Associated with high-frequency, active, and focused mental activity. This is the dominant state during daily tasks, conscious conversation, decision-making, and analytical thinking.
Other Brainwave States:
Theta (4β8 Hz): Deep relaxation, dreaming, and light sleep.
Delta (0.5β4 Hz): Deep, restorative sleep.
Gamma (Above 30 Hz): High-level, focused information processing.
*Insight Timer has sound wave meditations in its Sound Healing tracks.

When we begin to reform our neural pathways and have various experiences that reinforce a new state of mind, change can start to happen. If someone is in a continual abusive relationship where their mental and physical safety is at risk daily, it is harder to find space to feel regulated. Taking a walk in nature with a trusted friend in a space you feel safe. Having small windows of this feeling can start to have lasting effects.
Each time, we can create a circuit break in the old patterning and can start rebuilding.
I will reiterate that this is not a catch-all approach and can take time, especially if you have experienced high-level trauma and not had previous support. The good news is, I believe this and have experienced the results personally and professionally.

So, in conclusion, what is a small stretch you can take today? Thatβs if any part of this post resonated with you. Stretch where you can, and any size will do. The key is to add on to what you did before. Where do you want more ease in your life? Start there; this has more to do with You than it does with anyone else. We can only control how we are in each situation. If there are people you need to distance yourself from, physically or mentally, to keep your own peace of mind, that is a step.
Take care of yourself! Love yourself more! Create time and space to be unapologetically you! Even if itβs alone time in the bathroom, take those moments.

PS. In my last post, I mentioned offerings. I would like to put it out there that I am looking to do a virtual Oracle Card class and opening up some spots for 1:1 clients. If you are interested in either of these, please email me at Khouse469@gmail.com.
I am in the process of reworking my website and did not want to wait for that to be complete before I put out these invitations. I am taking a stretch, practicing what I spent the past hour writing about. ππ£π
